Event & Branding
The NBA Section on Business Law runs the country's leading commercial law conference, drawing from a membership of more than six thousand practitioners. The 20th edition ran from 8 to 10 June 2026 at Abuja Continental Hotel, themed Beyond Reforms: Measuring Policy Impact, and doubled as the section's twenty-first anniversary.
Two audiences with opposite needs in one room. Delegates are senior lawyers who read authority in restraint. Sponsors run from headline firms through titanium and lower tiers, and every one of them has paid for visible presence across three days. Get the balance wrong in either direction and you have produced a trade fair or an ungrateful client. The build also had to work across a working hotel, which means plenary, breakouts, exhibition and circulation all had to be legible while the building carried on being a hotel around them.
Sponsor visibility was designed as a hierarchy rather than a scramble. Tiers were placed by where each audience actually stands: headline partners on the plenary sightlines where the cameras and the keynote are; titanium tier through the exhibition and circulation spine where delegates spend the time between sessions; lower tiers on breakout and registration. Every sponsor got the same production quality, which is what stops a tiered system reading as a snub. The main stage was built around the theme rather than printing it, with a set that reads as authoritative in the room and clean on the camera feed, an important distinction for a conference streamed and photographed as heavily as this one. Wayfinding was treated as the largest single deliverable, since three days of concurrent sessions in a hotel is a navigation problem before it is a branding one.
The section's twentieth edition and twenty-first anniversary were staged in an environment built to carry both the milestone and the sponsor commitments that funded it
